Daniel, it take me 6 hrs. from Cleveland, to Louisville, so what does it take for you from Mansfield? 5 hrs, or more like 4 and a half?

4 to 4 1/2, not counting a stop or two along the way.

Board members are part-owners, shareholders.

"Board" is the term used. It's just a term for a meeting of the joint owners of the organization. (And it seems reasonable enough to me that someone would pay to become a part owner of something.)

Thanks for all the nominations. I will have to run over to Rodney's house and ask for a loan.He would probably want me on the Board just to annoy Gerald. 8-)

Does anyone know who all the members of the NQC Board are? Know several but would like to see a list of all of them.

They are listed in the NQC program. I don't have mine handy at the moment to look them up but I do remember them being listed.

I knew I had seen the list. I wonder if it is on the NQC website?

There is a photo of them at Musicscribe. It's at an angle, though.

Hi there,

Are you aware that Legacy Five has organised a Mexican Riviera Cruise for October 2010? The Booth Brothers, The Greenes, Liberty Quartet and others will all be part of the cruise. And doesn't Dr Stanley usually have a cruise or a trip organised more or less at that time of the year as well? I can see the possibility of quite a few clashes if NQC want to meet in October. Or do I have this all wrong?

NQC will still be held in Louisville Ky in 2010. The possibility of moving would be in 2011.

Received Invoice today for the booth at the 2010 NQC. It isn't due until the end of February. There seems to be little interest on having the booth at NQC for 2010. If we are to have the booth we need a minimum of $600.00 pledged to cover the expense of the booth. That will be basic. We have looked at a 10 x 10 foam blocks instead of carpet which will run around $125.00 and the booth rental is $400.00. Love seat was $80.00 last year. I've only received 4 pm's from people interested in helping with expenses next year. If forum members aren't interested we''ll just forget having the booth.

Bobby, how many gave money for this year? We would need 6 people to average $100 apiece; or 12 people at $50; or 24 people at $25. Just trying to get an idea of the level of participation.

Although I would probably be more likely to attend NQC if it moved to Indy, I do understand I'm a minority and I like the Louisville Convention Center. I know the Indy one fairly well and it is nice to be able to walk to the mall to get food and stuff but I'm open to whatever. I expect it to stay in Louisville or move further south which would make it harder for me to attend.

We had ten people donate this year.

Have received word from 4 that they would like to have booth next year.

I think I have changed my mind about a Santa booth next year because I don't want to start something I could not continue and if it moved to Indiana I most likely would not be there.
We will see what happens before final decision.

Bobby, I really don't have a preference, however as I told you before, if we have one, I will donate the amount I gave it at the least, possibly more if needed.

I've checked the rates at several motels/hotels that are on the NQC website. I have found that rates online at these hotels are much cheaper than they are from the NQC site. Why do you thing NQC would jack-up the rates?

Those are the rates they have contracted with NQC. I have found that a lot of the motels will run "web" special rates that even if you call them directly you will not get. So...it pays to shop around and check back periodically to see if you can find a special...like we did with Red Roof this past year. I have a couple reservations and will decide closer to time which is the best value. ;)
