NQC 2010

Nothing personal against moving it north but I would believe there would be a lot of good seats available for 2011 and 2012 that are not usually available. Would prefer it stay where it is or move south.

Is this a settled thing, or are they just talking about it?

I just got a survey a minute ago from NQC about the move. Think they are very seriously considering the move. I voted no to the move. Won't be attending if they move.

Daniel, it take me 6 hrs. from Cleveland, to Louisville, so what does it take for you from Mansfield? 5 hrs, or more like 4 and a half?

Where I live in Ohio is only 2 1/2 hours from Indy so I guess you know how this household would vote. My concern would be where the seats would be located. We had some friends who went to Nashville NQC for many years and had great seats. When they moved to Louisville the seats they were given were way up in the boonies. They tried constantly to get better seats but never could so they quit going. Our seats in Louisville are really good so where the seats would be in Indy would be the concern here. I haven't gone the last two years because of walking problems, but Howie has been taking a friend.

The advantage for me is we have friends we may be able to stay with. I wouldn't usually do that to friends with the schedule NQC keeps but I'd consider it with these particular friends. They're used to our crazy schedules when we've attended other Indy conventions.

It looks like Indy would be about 8 hours away rather than the 6 and 1/2 hours to Louisville (I live in the Memphis area). Not enough to cause me to stop attending, but certainly a longer trip. I would love a move back to Nashville (or better yet the original location of Memphis)! :-)

Hi there,

Why is NQC wanting to move in the first place?

I didn't go this year and moving it to Indy would make me less likely to go back. I would consider going back if they brought it back to Nashville or moved it south to Atlanta.

I am SOOOO not liking the idea of Indianapolis!!! We came through there on the way home from Shipshewana, and it's really too far for me, I got a survey from NQC and I answered it very, very negatively.

I went to NQC for the first time this year, but am thinking if they move NQC to Indianapolls I will try & go to SINGING IN THE SUN at Myrtle Beach, SC instead. That would only be a 6 hour drive for me. Can anyone tell me the differance between NQC & SINGING IN THE SUN?
Please, pray for my two nephew's as

they start their service to our country

Contract is up in Louisville next year, apparrantly Louisville isn't interested in trying to 'keep' the NQC and other towns are trying to get it.

Where is the heart of Southern Gospel Music? Where are most fans located? Where are most of the concerts held?

Maybe they should be considering that part of the country.

How cold is Indianapolis in October & November?

Bobby, that was a point I forgot to mention. November is NOT the time most southerners will want to be in Indianapolis. With the Christian Bookseller's Convention, they would have it in Indy in February which was also not good weatherwise but I heard the rates were cheaper. That may be why NQC is considering October or November. October may be okay but this year, we've had a cold October.
