Ok, Sleep Inn at Gate 6 has rooms $89 per night, $80 if you have AAA. The Comfort Inn and Suites on the Dixie Hwy has rooms $89. & the Quality Inn on Bardstown has them starting at $54.

Santa, what type of room did you guys have at the Quality Inn? Did it have a refrigerator and microwave?

That's a good deal too, the next couple of weeks before everything gets 'snapped up' you can find some good deals!

The Hampton and Embassy Suites and Hampton Inns are also both cheaper than this year.

EconoLodge is $65/night for double room...they have a refrigerator in the room.

I don't know...I haven't checked into the tickets yet. I bought mine last year in October and still had good seats. There are always tickets available closer to time. I had a couple tickets to sell...sold all but one.

I'm not Santa but we had a king bed, Microwave and Fridge. I booked the week of NQC and the price with AARP disc was $94.00

Santa and Mrs. C had a two room suite with a fridge and microwave.

Due to financial issues, I am going to wait a while to book my hotel room. According to what Bobby posted prior to NQC 2009, there are usually good deals in the last couple of months prior to NQC as hotels slash their prices in an effort to fill their rooms!

I hate to tell you that didn't happen this year. I found the prices were higher or no rooms available. The one place I found that Bobby booked was a manager's special for a week's booking. They later said they shouldn't have given that and won't next year.

Lynn I was trying to post that I will not dispute Bobby's word but I did not find any slashed prices.

Toby, thank you, I knew they had told me they had 2 rooms but wasn't sure if was a king or double. They had 2 BATHROOMS!!! That's what I call a good deal! 2 women trying to get ready need 2 bathrooms!!!! :laughter:

Jeff I have found better rates this week than any of the deals I found the few weeks before convention. If you book most places you don't have to pay anything but you have a room. Now is a great time to book or the last month before convention sometimes can be depends on the demand, I seldom book any time other than those two.

Right now I have 5 different rooms reserved while we try to make up our minds as to where we want a) cheapest, b) most convenient, c) breakfast, etc. Right now I'm leaning towards convenient but not really sure that will stay the same.

I've had bad experiences with both Quality Inn and Best Western so I'm not sure about either of those.

Like I said before this year's convention, I'm a hotel snob, don't deny it, wish I wasn't but that's the one thing I don't compromise on a lot, I like to have space, CLEAN, and good locks. It looks like Choice still gives the best 'build your points' for getting free nights. I love Hilton Hotels but so many of them take a LOT of points and you don't earn that many when you stay at them.

Me either Toby. That might have been the case in the past...one near the Expo center jumped their prices $60/night from Monday night to the rest of the week. Yes...went from $65 to $125/night. Where I stayed was nice...Best Western. It was a couple exits down and was really easy and quick to get to. The only complaint was the breakfast was nothing to write home about. I guess it depends on what you want. I usually don't eat much for breakfast so it was no big deal for me.

The Quality Inn on Bardstown Road was O.K. It was not real fancy but it was spacious and clean. Also had a cont. breakfast. About five minutes (4 miles) from the Expo center.

Okay I went ahead and booked a room for the Best Western again. It was $81 each night which is very close to what it was this year. Might even be a little cheaper! The main reason I did it now is that they won't charge my credit card until next August, and then it will only be for the first night!

I liked the hotel. It was only 3.5 miles from NQC so the commute back and forth was not bad at all. My bank has a branch not far from the hotel, which was really convenient!

You want a shocking price???? Crown Plaza across the street from Expo is $259 per night the week of NQC!

This was the Marriott I believe...they said they charged over $400/night during Derby week. I told them they were crazy!

I have 2 places booked. I will decide and cancel the other. I booked for 7 nights...it's easier to deduct nights from my reservation than add if my travel plans change.
