I was talking to Joseph Monday evening, and he told me that the idea for the song came during a service in which Randy Perry was preaching on Psalm 30:5 Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. He wrote the lyrics, then gave it to Matthew Hold to put to music.

Matthew did a stellar job.

Yesterday I did the Itunes thing and downloaded some songs for the first time. I decided to try it instead of buying so many cds. Some groups I like a song or two, but wouldn't want 10 or 12. Some groups have one awesome song every few years and I hate to buy a cd to get one song.

I know I can buy a Perry's cd having never heard one song from it because I will love it. In fact, I might even need to buy two. My ten year old granddaughter, who is a Booth Brothers fanatic has started playing my Perry's cds. :D

I'm the same way, I usually just buy individual songs on itunes that I've heard on the radio, in concerts, etc. But there are a few groups that I can buy the CD and know I'll love it, and the Perrys are definitely one of those groups!! I can't wait for the new CD!!!

No less than the standard that we expect from such a blessed and talented group. I wanna say which ones are the best, but i cant think of any one that is better than the others. Great job gang! :clap2:

DeeAnn, do you have any idea what order the songs will be in?

I don't have any idea, so, so that I could play them in order, I decided to put on my thinking cap and come up with a temporary song order. Supposing you did that, what would you come up with?

Here's what I came up with:
1. Prior to a Prayer (seemed to have the most album-opening-like intro)
2. Old Fashioned Altar
3. Did I Mention
4. I Love to Tell
5. Almost Morning
6. This Old Sinner Testifies
7. You Cannot Improve on the Truth
8. Dying is a Day Worth Living For
9. If You Knew Him
10. One Who is Unworthy

Joe updated a couple of times on Twitter that he is sick, allergies and probablay dust from the move. I know he'd like prayers to feel better before they have to sing.

Before service tonight Joe said he was feeling a little better but still under the weather but you could not tell it by the way he sang!!!! They all did an awesome job!!! I love "Almost Morning" and he did it tonight! The church was full and it was a great concert. Oh and I need to mention Brian, he says I don't love him cause I never mention him or even remember to tell him good bye!

Brian I mentioned you and NO, I'm not bring another edible arrangement the next time I come!!! :o

Mapquest gave me bad directions, so we got to the church late. I felt a little better when Troy told me that they had bad directions too! This was the first time I have heard "Almost Morning." What a great song! Way to go Joseph and Matthew!
