Libbi - the five cuts I'm listening to are so AWESOME!!!!! The harmony is so smooth and tight!!!! And the songs are phenominal!!!!!!!! I keep changing my mind on which one is my fav but the title song, Almost Morning is up in the top! But then every one of them is great in a different way and style!
Everyone has at least one or two lines that just 'get you'!!!! Whopppeeee!!!! I can't wait for the entire project!!!

Almost Morning is a special song to Tracy and I. Joseph and Matthew wrote that song back in May last year. A lot you know that at the end of May last year, my 22 year old niece came to live with Tracy and I. She had been battling alcohol for quite some time and was just starting to try different drugs. After coming to us in a concert in Lawrenceville, GA one night crying, saying she needed help, we told her to go home and get enough clothes to do a month and we would try to help her as much as we could. She had been raised in church since she was a baby, but the last few years drifted away and found other things that sufficed her. She was very hard hearted and I told Tracy I didn't know if we could help her or not because she was holding on so much to her friends (who were not good for her). I took her to Lifeway and bought her a bible and a journal and she said oh I have a bible somewhere. I said, somewhere? That tells me that it's not been read in a while! So I told her I wanted her to read something in the bible everyday, whether a verse, chapter or whatever as long as she was reading it. The bible was a Addiction Bible, which is very good because it has a lot of questions and answers a person with addictions might ask themselves. I also told her that I wanted her to write in her journal every day about how she was feeling for that day. She was like why? I told her because after she would finally give up and surrender to the Lord, she could go back and read where He brought her from. Well, she didn't really want to do any of it, but she did because she knew I would be asking her about it. About 3 weeks after she came with us, we were singing in Calhoun, GA at a church we have been to several times. The night before Joseph sang Almost Morning for Tracy and I going down the road because he and Matthew had just finished writing it. The next night in Calhoun while we were singing,
I stopped what we were doing and ask Joseph to sing this new song they had just finished writing, because I felt within my spirit that someone was needing to hear this song. Now, I had no idea that what happened next would happen! Joseph started singing the song and by the time it got to the chorus, my niece was in
the altar!! I went down to pray with her and she was there for a good bit and when she finally came up from there, she just glowed!!!!! You could tell that she had given it all to the Lord! From that moment on, she has been a changed person. She still lives with us. She met a great christian guy from our church who had pretty much came out of the same stuff she had and they started dating and now they are getting married June 13, 2009. I really believe with all my heart that Almost Morning brought her to the point to where she knew the song was about her.
About the journal.......I called home a couple weeks ago and she was crying. When I ask why, she said I was sitting here reading my journal and I can't believe how far God has brought me, from where I was 10 months ago. She said, I am so glad you encouraged me to write what I was feeling because I can truly see what a different person I am today.
Just wanted to share this story with you and let you know one of the reasons for putting it on the album was for my niece and so many other people in the world that is in the same place she was a year ago.

That is so neat!
I believe the song was my favorite of the five even beforehand, but now it definitely is.

Libbi, we were there the night you told Brittany to get her things for a month and to go home with you. I remember how burdened you were and you told us to please pray! I knew Brittany had gotten things right with the Lord, you had shared that but didn't know about the song! It has such a message and it is the one that I keep hitting over and over. As I read the post, I sat here crying. Thanks for sharing how God answered that prayer! Most of us have someone (or more than one) that we are praying for but they are cold, they are hard, they just don't want to give things to God. God is still there and He hears us and He answers right on time!
Whether we have an addiction or are just cold or just tired, the greatest hope we have is that it is Almost Morning!!! I had a feeling it was a Matt/Joe song- just something about it I was sure they had written it! Great job, great song and by the way, you are right Tracy is TREMENDOUS on these cuts!!!! But then so are the rest of you!!!!
Love you guys!!!!

I met Brittany at Gatlinbutg over Labor day weekend. I sat and talked to her for a long time before I found out she was Libbi's niece. She is adorable, and I instantly loved her. I had no idea about how she had come to live with Libbi. This story just makes me so happy! PTL!!!!!

Of the 7 new songs I've heard, there is not a bad one in the bunch. Can't wait to hear the rest of them! And better yet see them sung in person by the group!

That's Awesome!! It's just amazing to see how much God truly uses music to reach people!! I've always believed that but it's great to hear individual stories. Praise God for turning her life around!

I talked to our pastor this morning, who told me that the May 29 date at First Baptist, Sevierville, is not a church function, but a group borrowing our church. So I guess we shouldn't plan to be there that night.

But Randy said he would work on getting them here. Yea!!!!!

I don't always read the group threads, as my time is so limited but I'm glad I read the last page of this one to hear Libbi's story. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I too need to now dry off the front of my dress for the tears that are falling but I think I needed the practical reminder that God's hand is not short. There are those who I have been crying out to God for for years; yet He is so able, and I believe He will save some of these people. The waiting is just so hard sometimes, especially when their hearts are hard. Praise the Lord that He still answers prayer! I'm reminded often that the Word says "He is not willing that ANY should perish but that ALL should come to repentance." Lord, hasten that day!

This is a Kyla Rowland program and I think it is open to anyone. We went a few years ago when it was at FBC, Pigeon Forge. I think I got the name right.
