I didn't see a thread just for Guy, so I thought I would start one.
Has anyone heard anything about him since he left the Gaither Vocal Band?? I'm curious if he will stay Southern Gospel or if he will go Country, i am hoping he stays with SG. Does anyone know if he has a website or anything up and going?

I did a Google search on Guy and lo and behold there were articles from Aaron Swain and Daniel Mount's Blog on there.
This was in Guy's biography:

Biography
He grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico, where his father, Rev. Joe Penrod, was the pastor of Temple Baptist Church. He also is a graduate of Hobbs High School.

Penrod is a graduate of Liberty University. Starting in the early 1980s, he worked as a studio singer, backing up voices such as Steve Green, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Garth Brooks, James Ingram, and Phillips, Craig & Dean. During the 1981 and 1982 school years Guy recorded his first album, singing all four parts. The effort was financed in part by the members of his dorm, each contributing $10.00 toward studio time. He was also a member of the Christ Church Choir, as was another future Gaither Vocal Band member, Jonathan Pierce. During his years in the studio, he met Bill Gaither for the first time. He also made regular appearances on Music City Tonight in the background singers.

After accepting the position with the Gaither Vocal Band in 1994, Penrod became internationally known for his powerful vocals and broad singing range. He has performed in Gaither Homecoming concerts all over the U.S. and Canada, as well as in Europe, Australia, and Africa.

He and his wife, Angie (Clark), have eight children: seven boys and one girl. From oldest to youngest, their names are Tyler Guy, Logan William, Joseph Loren, Jesse Dakota, Levi Clark, Grayson Guy, Zachariah Garrison, and Lacey Mariah. They live on his family farm in Tennessee.

Sorry if this is being discussed somewhere else here (i'm usually late to the party! )

I was just searching BSA schedules as usual to see if any concerts will be my way soon, and I ran across a listing for a Guy Penrod concert!!!!

08/30/09 Sun 08:00PM MO BRANSON MUSIC CITY CENTRE 1835 WEST HWY 76 CONCERT

I guess he is being booked by BSA now...very interesting. Hope more dates show up soon. I don't normally like solo artists, but I love Guy so much I would want to see him. Anyone else heard any more news on him?
